An International Curriculum,
...translated into more than sixteen international languages and is in use in 50 countries world wide. More than 1 million students in Central America, South America, Western and Eastern Europe, Africa and throughout Asia have gone through lessons in this curriculum.

"A strategy to help individuals to internalise positive values and beliefs which can guide them to be good decision makers, regarding all dimensions of life. Uniquely designed, the lessons motivate individuals to want to know, love and act in ways that are consistent with a life of good character."

THE PROBLEM …
HIV/AIDS is a world-wide problem, but is especially devastating in Sub-Sahara Africa. Nearly 70% of new global infections are occurring here.

THE SOLUTION
CrossRoads is a comprehensive, community based strategy, addressing the HIV/AIDS issue. The program curricula and strategy now operates in 5 continents in 50 countries and has been effectively implemented in many educational systems. They are designed to offer solutions for social problems through:

  • ¨ Behaviour change
  • ¨ Character development
  • ¨ And the modelling of healthy relationships

The project addresses the "A" (Abstinence) and "B" (Be faithful elements of the national government's A-B-C HIV/AIDS prevention program framework. It also supports the government's "Moral Regeneration Movement" initiative.

Additionally, our program is designed to create a 'snowball effect' within the local communities through the positive influence the participants in the program; namely parents, teachers and youth, will have on their peers. Moreover, the CrossRoads strategy provides an unprecedented opportunity to partner with communities, school systems, businesses, and non-governmental organisations to help address critical needs and to encourage a constructive atmosphere for communication and behavioural change within the community. By the utilisation of a model that addresses universal culturally accepted moral values, we anticipate a high level of participation from all communities and ethnic groups.
